From our Trustee and Teaching Director, Adhyatma …
We are continuing to seek funding for our prison yoga teachers to be paid. We firmly believe it’s the energy exchange needed for our valued teachers to continue this highly-regarded and necessary work.
To be able to fulfill our dream of having teachers across the country in every prison and make it sustainable for them to do this we are looking to get small local funders on board.
Our teachers teaching in local prison communities have far reaching benefits, and we know local funders will be responsive to these benefits.
Here’s our challenge, and we hope to have support of friends like you around the country.
The task of grant writing is large and we don’t currently have the yogi powers to take it on for every region. To help generate local funds we would like to recruit local volunteers to directly support the local teachers by researching and submitting proposals for local grants.
Do you have some free time, skills and feel inspired to support this work?
Or do you have any connections in your community – students, clients, colleagues – who could offer some time to our cause?
We would support volunteers by providing leads for funding, and easy to use messages and data points to complete funding applications with minimal fuss but with all the rewards that come from this kind of work.
We’re a great tribe doing great things and we’d love to you be a part of it.
