Yoga Education in Prisons Trust will work together with Ara Poutama; people in Ara Poutama’s care, people on community sentences, their whānau, hapū, iwi and communities to incorporate traditional cultural values and promote inclusive decision-making processes.

Our courses and classes are offered to empower all people serving sentences to return to wellbeing, reorient their lives and move toward their higher potential. Our mahi builds self-esteem, promotes positive outlook and encourages heart-led connections with the aim to living a life of freedom.

We recognize that honouring ahurea, whakapapa, aroha, manaaki, kaitiaki, rangatira, wairua and whānau are fundamental in our communities if we wish to thrive as a whole.
