Adhyatma
I began practising yoga as a teenager and returned to it more deeply in my twenties, finding it a steady way to reconnect with myself and build balance and resilience. In 2001 I trained in India at the Bihar School of Yoga, an experience that continues to influence how I teach today.
For many years I have been involved in bringing yoga into prisons across Aotearoa. I began volunteering at Waikeria Prison in 2007, which later led to helping establish the Yoga Education in Prisons Trust in 2009. Since then, I have taught in several correctional facilities and continue to support people inside through classes and a yoga correspondence course.
My approach is simple and practical, focusing on tools that support calm, self-awareness, and steadiness in daily life.
